Jeff Dufresne presents as part of our on-going speaker series.
The program covers the history and benefits of mushrooms from ancient Eastern medicine to today’s culinary, medicinal and functional applications. Featured will be the benefits of 10 healthy mushrooms that can help lower blood pressure, strengthen your immune system, reduce tumors, promote healthy skin care, and improve mental acuity.
Also profiled will be emerging functional applications of mushrooms including artificial leather, construction materials, packaging products, bioremediation and many more.
About our speaker:
Jeff Dufresne is a resident mycologist and owner of PAX DOMUS FARM in Milton. Jeff is also a life-time member of the Mushroom Club of Georgia (MCG), founding member of the Milton Historical Society, former member of Milton’s Design Review Board (DRB), and retired executive director of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Jeff grew up on a diary farm in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and was educated at Deerfield Academy and Columbia University before launching his career in real estate development and conservation.
